Greetings! And welcome to the online home of What Would MacGyver Do?, a new collection of stories by people who have employed MacGyver-like ingenuity to solve their everyday problems. My name is Brendan Vaughan, and I edited the book.
Am I MacGyveresque? I am not. Which is actually why I was drawn to the project in the first place—I've always been fascinated by (and jealous of) those who are gifted in the improvisational arts. So about eighteen months ago I posted a call for stories about MacGyver moments—and the submissions poured in. Alas, I couldn't include them all. But the forty-two stories I did select—some by professional writers, others by regular people with a flair for invention and a way with words—will inspire you, make you laugh, and maybe even teach you something useful. For a taste, check out these three samples. And if you like what you read, pick up a copy at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million, or wherever fine books inspired by 1980s television icons are sold.
